Hi! Thank you so much for stopping by the Women Can Project! We're two ladies who work in the roofing industry and a happy result of our profession is we get to meet a lot of awesome people within the Roofing Industry and within it’s sister industries (the Trades, i.e. Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, General Construction).
On thing you'll discover about the trades is the incredible work ethic. Early to rise and late to bed, Tradesmen provide the services and skills we all need on a very basic level: running water, heat, shelter from the elements. We would all have a very hard time being productive in our everyday lives if these basic necessities were no longer available to us. If money makes the world go round, the Trades help keep it in motion.
But who makes up the Trades? Who facilitates the businesses, manages the employees, runs the jobs, handles the advertising, marketing, and operations?
Hard-working, self-sacrificing, get-the-job-done women.
Meeting all these amazing ladies and hearing their unique stories made us realize that women in the trades and male dominated industries often have to work twice as hard as men to earn a seat at the table professionally. And even then, they have to continue to prove themselves as capable and competent.
This is where the Women Can Project was born. We believe that by creating a space for these ladies to share their stories and experiences, we can create connection, education, and mentor-ship opportunities, for today's working women and for the generations to follow.
We believe women can connect, inspire, embolden and uplift.
We believe women can change the world.
We believe women can.
Lori grew up in the Roofing industry and now owns and runs a successful Roofing Company in Auburn Washington. When she's not working, she loves spending time with her family, running half marathons, and hiking with friends.
Morgan, who has worked in many different industries in her professional career, now works alongside Lori in Roofing. As result of her proximity to Roofing and the trades, she has developed a passion for promoting the promotion of women in male dominated industries. When she's not working she enjoys running and spending time with friends.
